As a healthcare professional, what do you need to know about AI? Our learning needs survey suggests that healthcare professionals mainly need to work on their basic knowledge of AI, and on ‘framework knowledge’ (ethics, legal, management). In addition, we recommend to keep an eye on new tools.

Since February 2025, this has even become mandatory for all organisations and companies using AI (EU AI Act Art. 4 on AI literacy). That’s why VAIA developed the online course “AI in Healthcare. In healthcare, it’s essential to handle data and AI responsibly. The risks are broad: from incorrect diagnoses to misuse of personal data and unclear accountability. That’s why it’s important not to limit yourself to hands-on training alone. Make sure to also follow a course that provides the bigger picture: one that addresses ethical risks, legal obligations and best practices for managing AI systems successfully.
