Cookie & mailing list goals

The websites vaia.be, vlaamse-ai-academie.be, flanders-ai-academy.be and flemish-ai-academy.be use functional cookies to support the working of the website (e.g. to remember your language choice). For more information: Cookie Policy. We use "Matomo" for insights into (the amount of) visitors to our website.

VAIA (info@vaia.be) collects personal data via forms, with the goal of organizing training courses and seminars about AI, as well as the announcement of our learning materials and resources via direct mailings to your email address. If there is a clear link with our own operations, we may also include news from third parties in our mailings, e.g. in a newsletter with relevant information from the AI field.

Mailings

To send these messages to you, we may use third party email services, such as, but not limited to Flexmail. It may also happen that we collect all answers and anonymously process and share them at an aggregated level, such as, but not limited to, a report to the Flemish government on the gender distribution of our target groups, or on the chosen AI knowledge level. However, under no circumstances, will we pass on personal data that identifies you to third parties for purposes other than those described above.

Retention

The personal data is kept as long as we send mailings. We save the data on servers of KU Leuven and in the mailing tool Flexmail, in accordance with current practices and expectations. However, no system or platform is infallible. If you are aware of possible abuse, please contact us immediately via info@vaia.be.

Here, you can also ask to be unsubscribed or forgotten, to request insight into your personal data or to correct inaccuracies. Every time you receive an email from us, you will also be able to unsubscribe via a link in the email.

VAIA reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement at any time. We will inform you of changes concerning your personal data. At this point, as always, you can choose to have your personal information removed from our data files.
