The Association of Former History Students of Ghent University was founded in 1947 by Professor Jan Dhondt with the aim of maintaining and strengthening the ties between Ghent historians themselves, between them and Ghent University, and between them and the historical world in a broader sense. OSGG is aimed at all historians who graduated with a master's or doctorate from Ghent University and those who obtained their degree through the examination board.
