Vincent Ginis
Vincent Ginis is Associate Professor of Physics, Mathematics, and Artificial Intelligence at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Visiting Professor at Harvard University's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. His interdisciplinary research focuses on physics, information theory, complex systems, data analysis, and artificial intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs). He collaborates closely with the VUB AI Lab and the Applied Physics group.
Vincent earned his Ph.D. summa cum laude from VUB in 2014 and has received several prestigious awards, including the Solvay Award and the Agathon De Potter Award. His influential research appears in leading journals such as Science, Nature Photonics, PNAS, and Physical Review Letters, as well as top AI conferences like AAAI, ICLR, and ICML.
Committed to open and reproducible science, Vincent frequently engages in public discussions about scientific developments. He supervises Ph.D. students and consistently receives top evaluations for teaching Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering. As a former co-president of the Young Academy of Belgium, he promotes educational innovation, open science, and careful consideration of algorithmic feedback loops.
