Jourik Ciesielski holds a Master in Translation and a Postgraduate Certificate in Specialized Translation from KU Leuven. Fluent in Dutch, English, French, Spanish, and basic Portuguese, he has a passion for Spain and Latin America, reflected in his Spanish thesis on Mexican-American literature.

In 2013, he joined Yamagata Europe in Ghent as an intern and later became a full-time Localization QA Operator. His interest in language technology led him to the role of Localization Engineer, where he developed successful localization strategies for various companies.

In 2018, he taught Introduction to Localization at the University of Antwerp and continues to deliver guest lectures at Antwerp and Ghent universities. A regular speaker at industry events like memoQfest and Tekom, he shares his expertise widely.

Currently, his main interests include artificial intelligence, automation, machine translation, industry standards, and speech technology.
