Anastasia is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Declarative Languages and Artificial Intelligence (DTAI) section of Computer Science Department at KU Leuven. Anastasia conducts research related to the fusion of Knowledge Graphs and Machine Learning. Her research is focused on (i) facilitating and automating KG construction (RML.io), (ii) KG quality assessment and validation (SHACL), (iii) (Machine Learning) Algorithms representation and its fusion with knowledge graphs and (iv) KG modelling, provenance, access control and privacy. Anastasia combines fundamental ad applied research considering different application domains with a special focus on the manufacturing domain. She is currently involved in two projects: Reproducing Expert Knowledge (REXPEK) and Knowledge Graphs for Intelligent Decision Making with Decentralised Data (KG3D). Anastasia is also involved in two research networks: she is Science Communication Manager of the COST Action on Decentralised Knowledge Graphs (DKG) and she leads the FWO Research Network on Knowledge Graphs for Data Integration (KG4DI). She is also affiliated with FlandersMake and Leuven.AI and her team consists of 1 postdoc and 6 PhD students.

Before Anastasia was a senior/postdoctoral researcher at the Knowledge on Web Scale (KNoWS) team of Internet & Data Lab (IDLab) of imec (former iMinds). In IDLab she lead her team on Knowledge Graph construction which consisted of 2 post-doctoral and 5 PhD researchers, but also a few Master thesis students and several job students and managed different research or industrial projects in different roles.
