Workshop Text Analysis using NLP for researchers

This workshop aims to provide an accessible introduction to the application of Deep Learning within the field of social/human sciences. Designed specifically for beginners with no prior exposure to Machine Learning, it offers an exploration of Deep Learning’s role in Natural Language Processing (NLP), a critical aspect of modern social/human science research.

Through a blend of theoretical and practical modules, the workshop focuses on how Deep Learning can be used to understand and analyse text data. This includes understanding how AI models can recognize patterns, predict outcomes, and interpret sentiment from human language.

Learning outcome:

Participants will gain an insight into the creation of robust research methodologies based on deep learning within social/human sciences. Upon conclusion of the workshop, participants can expect to have a basic understanding of how Deep Learning can be employed in research and an awareness of the possible problems/risks when using this methodology.
