Practical information:
SmartNation AI Hackathon, what?
During this hackathon, you will develop a fully-fledged innovation project in three days.
You will do it in a team, under the guidance of an experienced coach.
At the end of the third day, you will present the results to a jury.

Smart applications for medical data
This challenge contributes to improving the transition to new automated patient records in Belgian hospitals. It revolves around accurately restoring and organising medical data. You have the opportunity to use anonymous/pseudonymous data and develop new methods, with metrics focusing on the quality of data organisation and positive impact on medical research.

Digital Journey to Justice
Develop innovative digital solutions to enhance access to justice by focusing on:
Participants are expected to create practical, user-friendly digital solutions that address these critical aspects, ultimately contributing to a more accessible justice system in Belgium.
Challenge owner: SPF Justice / Ministry of Justice
Partner: Smart Law Hub / Perelman Centre (ULB) – Prof. G. Lewkowicz
- Guide users effectively towards the most suitable justice-seeking mechanism tailored to their needs.
- Facilitate user access to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, aiming to settle disputes outside of the courtroom.
- Assist users in navigating and accessing the court system, with or without legal representation.
Parliamentary Questions
This challenge aims at efficiently formulating responses to parliamentary questions for cabinet staff by utilising previous questions and their corresponding answers. Additionally, data should be made more accessible to Belgian citizens.
