From latent to physical space

With an ever-growing flood of 'AI slop', the question becomes urgent: how do we, as creatives, designers and makers, maintain agency over AI in our creative process? The answer lies beyond the black box. Using generative AI with intention means understanding how to actively steer outcomes. This summer studio is about taking control of the latent space and bringing it back in the physical space.

The SAIAR Summer Studio is a four-day (5-day optional) hands-on programme exploring how generative AI can move beyond the screen and into physical space. Through workshops on node-based workflows, AI-generated motion, and projection mapping, participants develop and present their own immersive experiences. Expert input, guided experimentation, and collaborative studio sessions take participants from first concepts to a finished prototype and small scale open showcase moment.
