Application of generative AI for scholarly work
Praktische info:
Leertraject
You will learn how to design effective prompts to generate high-quality outputs and critically assess the reliability of AI-generated content. We will also address ethical considerations, including authorship, ownership, and copyright, ensuring you can leverage generative AI tools to improve your productivity while maintaining academic integrity.
Learning outcomes
- Explain generative AI principles and their relevance to research
- Identify capabilities and limitations of key tools
- Apply prompt engineering for scholarly tasks
- Use AI tools for literature reviews, drafting, and visualization
- Discuss ethics, authorship, and copyright
- Plan research workflows integrating generative AI
AI methods used
This training focuses on generative AI models, particularly large language models and researcher-oriented tools (e.g. chat-based assistants, literature discovery, and summarisation platforms) used to support scholarly workflows. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how these tools generate outputs, how to use them effectively, and their key limitations in research contexts.
