Bruno Dupont

Bruno Dupont is the Senior Coordinator of the KU Leuven Digital Society Institute, which strives for a positive digital society based on responsible, ethical and sustainable technologies and technology use. Within DigiSoc, Bruno is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Institute, setting up and coordinating research and education projects, building partnerships, and ensuring outreach and dissemination. He brings particular expertise to projects related to the inclusive design of digital applications, the study of video games and their effects, especially from an educational and literacy perspective, digital ethics, and the contribution of the Humanities to understanding digital culture. Bruno is co-supervisor of the FWO Scientific Research Network on Inclusive Perspectives on Ethical Game Design (2026–2030). Within DigiSoc, he was notably co-supervisor of the ETHICSxGAMES project on developing an Ethical Code of Conduct for the Game Industry (2026–2027), as well as the transdisciplinary project LOOK‑IT, which co‑designed more inclusive digital communication with organizations (2025–2026). He was also postdoctoral research manager of the FWO-SBO project Gam(e)(a)ble led by Rozane De Cock and Bieke Zaman (2020–2024), which examined the blurring boundaries between gaming and gambling. As a follow-up to this project, Bruno continues studying the intersection of gaming and gambling in contemporary digital media from a media studies perspective, in collaboration with a team of psychologists, legal researchers, and prevention specialists. He is particularly interested in developing frameworks for media education and ludoliteracy, both for future game developers and for broader audiences.
