Department of Information Technology (INTEC, UGent)
The Department of Information Technology (INTEC) of the Faculty of Engineering (Ghent University) hosts 400 researchers and support staff, all active in various research areas related to electrical engineering and computer science. The mission on the department is to deliver high-quality academic research, and valorising this research in education and/or collaborations with industry.
The department is contributing to various engineering curricula and maintains a healthy research portfolio covering the range between fundamental research, applied research and bilateral projects with industry. More than 10 spin-off companies have been created in the recent past, bringing academic results to the market reality.
