DDCM - Database, Document and Content Management Research Group
DDCM, the Database, Document and Content Management, is a research group of the Telecommunications and Information Processing department in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University.
A lot of organizations nowadays put large efforts in efficiently collecting, organizing and managing data and information. DDCM research aims to support these efforts by investigating and developing new technologies for improving data value chains and coping with the many challenges that stem from the diverse characteristics of data including the proper handling of large volumes, variety, complexity, velocity and veracity. Current research topics include data quality and veracity handling, managing imperfect/uncertain data, dealing with textual data, flexible query answering and decision support.
Our mission: We are committed to provide the community with high quality and state-of-the-art expertise on the efficient handling and management of the huge and complex amount of information it has to deal with. We accomplish this mission by aiming for high level research, education and service and by a constructive, positive, innovative-driven attitude in all the work we undertake.
