Vero Vanden Abeele
Vero Vanden Abeele is an Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction, at the department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Engineering Technology, KU Leuven. Vero’s research relates to user experience design, human-centered design, motivational design, games user research… with a specific focus on health and wellbeing. Vero has been interested in how to realize meaningful play for in a health context, and is involved in the international games research community as member of the CHI PLAY steering committee. Vero has also co-founded the startup TinkerList, a tool for live media production, with superior UX.
Vero holds a master's degree in industrial design
('Productontwikkeling') at the university of Antwerp, was introduced to
Interaction Design at Carnegie Mellon University, as a Fulbright
scholar. She completed a PhD at the faculty of Social Sciences at KU
Leuven. As a PI, she is part of HCI@GroepT group and the
e-Media Research Lab.
