Klaas Vandepoele

Klaas Vandepoele is a professor at Ghent University and group leader in the VIB-UGent Centre for Plant Systems Biology. His goal is to extract biological knowledge from large-scale experimental datasets using data integration, comparative sequence/chromatin/expression analysis, AI, and network biology. By developing and applying various bioinformatics methods, he identifies new aspects of genome biology, especially in the areas of gene function prediction, gene regulation and evolutionary/system biology in plants, green algae and diatoms. Klaas Vandepoele has published >150 articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and is a Highly Cited Researcher.
