Ellen Wauters

Ellen Wauters is researcher at the Center for IT & IP Law (CiTiP) of the KU Leuven. This department is part of the Faculty of Law and has more than 80 researchers who work on the legislative and ethical aspects of IT innovation and intellectual property.

Ellen Wauters holds a master’s degree in Political Science (2001) and Law (2010). She has experience in media law, intellectual property and consumer law. Before joining CiTiP, she worked as a legal expert GDPR for the social secretariat for notaries, where she was responsible for GDPR compliance in the notary profession. At CiTiP she is part of the Knowledge Centre for Data and Society and also works on the project Spectre, which focuses on smart cities.
