Anyone who wants to harness the full potential of generative AI must learn to write good prompts. What are efficient and science-based ways to instruct AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot?
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover key prompting strategies to get started with AI tools for text and image generation. You will not only be introduced to basic techniques such as few-shot prompting, but also to more advanced methods such as chain-of-thought and chain-of-verification prompting, always based on the latest scientific insights. Moreover, you will work with GenAI tools yourself, to master the relevant techniques. This will give you hands-on experience on how these tools can learn new tasks, how to improve their reasoning abilities and reduce their tendency to hallucinate.
(This session had a different title before: "The Science of Prompt Engineering". The contents of the session remain unchanged!)

Learning Trajectory on Generative AI for Professionals in Higher Education
This is a suggestion for a learning trajectory on generative AI, targeted at professionals working in higher education (e.g., researchers, lecturers, administrative and technical staff, policymakers). The learning modules were carefully selected by VAIA to create a holistic and realistic starting point for educating this target group on GenAI. This trajectory gets updated regularly!
