Didactically Sound Academic Teaching in Times of GenAI
This inspiration session provides an up-to-date overview of potential use cases of GenAI in academic teaching practice. The focus is on applications that fully exploit the strengths of GenAI and connect with insights from digital didactics. At the same time, the session also pays attention to the risks implied by exploiting this technology and makes suggestions on how to mitigate or avoid these risks. In this context, we will also discuss educational practices that do not make use of GenAI, or delineate its use.

The session introduces participants to the potential of GenAI in academic teaching and opportunities for educators to respond to the challenges of teaching in times of GenAI. The session illustrates practices through examples and live demos, but is not a hands-on training in prompt engineering. However, deploying some of the applications effectively in one's own educational practice will require this skill.

Learning Trajectory on Generative AI for Professionals in Higher Education
This is a suggestion for a learning trajectory on generative AI, targeted at professionals working in higher education (e.g., researchers, lecturers, administrative and technical staff, policymakers). The learning modules were carefully selected by VAIA to create a holistic and realistic starting point for educating this target group on GenAI. This trajectory gets updated regularly!
