Jessica Godoy Chaparro is a legal expert (attaché) in the Digital Economy department of the Federal Public Service Economy. As part of the team coordinating the AI Act implementation in Belgium, she works on various topics such as the national governance structure and AI regulatory sandboxes. In this role, she also coordinates the Belgian nomination within the AI Board (sub-groups) and represents the country in numerous EU-meetings regarding AI policy. Prior to this, she was involved in the preparation of the Belgian position during the negotiations of the act and during the trilogues that were finalized during the Belgian presidency of the Council of the EU.
